Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how KaGolf collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you use the KaGolf app, website, waitlist, and related services.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide, information created through your app activity, and technical information needed to operate the service.
Account and profile information
- Name, first and last name, email address, Apple private relay email address if you choose Hide My Email, phone number if provided, account identifiers, authentication provider details, email verification status, and account settings.
- Profile details you choose to add, such as home club, handicap, playing preferences, profile photo, and other golf profile information.
- Social privacy settings, including private profile status, default post audience, direct message permissions, and profile search information derived from your name or home club.
- Age confirmation, legal agreement acceptance timestamps, and legal document versions accepted during account creation.
- Password authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. KaGolf does not store your plain text password.
Golf, social, and community activity
- Tee times, public tee time posts, flight details, player lists, waitlists, player commitments, course selections, club memberships, club roles, group activity, announcements, polls, invites, and live game feed activity.
- Follow requests, following and follower relationships, blocks, direct message permissions, direct messages, flight chats, club chats, message reactions, read status, and notifications.
- Scorecards, round records, hole-by-hole stats, club bag carry distances, verified handicap round submissions, caddie signature notes, member confirmations, shot measurements, round feedback, reliability signals, disputes, and leaderboard participation.
- Posts, comments, media attachments, photos, videos, reports, moderation notes, audit records, and other content you create, upload, or submit in KaGolf.
- Premium status, trial eligibility, subscription status, and related entitlement information. Payment processing is handled by Apple through your Apple ID.
Tournament and event information
- Published tournament listing details, including event title, course, location, date, registration deadline, format, entry fee, host, contact details, registration links, descriptions, status, and event images.
- Admin activity related to tournament listings, including created and updated timestamps, admin user identifiers, admin email addresses, uploaded poster, featured image, logo assets, and audit logs.
Location and device information
- Precise location may be used while you use live round GPS, yardage, map, weather, wind, elevation, and shot measurement features.
- Course coordinates, pin and target coordinates, weather request coordinates, elevation request coordinates, and location-derived gameplay data may be stored or cached when needed to provide app features.
- Firebase Analytics events, Crashlytics crash reports, Performance Monitoring traces, app version and build information, user properties, device push notification tokens, local reminder settings, app diagnostics, security logs, abuse-prevention records, rate limit records, and Cloud Functions logs may be processed to operate, measure, and protect the service.
Waitlist and website information
- If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and technical information needed to process the signup and prevent abuse.
- We may keep a hashed version of waitlist emails to detect duplicates and prevent spam.
- If you contact support, we collect the name, email address, optional account email, optional app user ID, topic, message, safety flag, request identifier, delivery status, and technical abuse-prevention information needed to process and respond to the request.
- Our website may use Meta Pixel to measure visits, waitlist signups, ad performance, and related website activity. Meta may process browser, device, and interaction information according to its own terms and privacy practices.
Sponsored placement information
- KaGolf may show sponsored placements to free users. The app may load and locally cache sponsored placement metadata such as sponsor name, title, subtitle, call-to-action text, image or video creative, target URL, placement, priority, status, and update time.
- We collect sponsored-placement and promoted-tournament impressions, clicks, video starts, and video completions together with placement, creative, and account identifiers. We use these events for analytics, frequency controls, advertising measurement, fraud prevention, and aggregate sponsor reporting. We do not provide sponsors or ad networks with user-level event records.
- If you report sponsored content, we collect your account identifier, the sponsored content identifier, your selected reason, the app surface, review status, and timestamps so we can investigate inappropriate, age-inappropriate, misleading, or unsafe ads.
Information stored on your device
- Some app data may be stored locally on your device, such as chat read timestamps, club bag carry distances, active round drafts, and local round reminders.
- Local device data may remain on the device until you delete it, clear app data, uninstall the app, or use app features that remove it.
How We Use Information
- To create, verify, authenticate, and protect your account.
- To operate core KaGolf features, including tee times, public tee time posts, flight matching, club membership, tournaments, chats, direct messages, scorecards, live GPS, maps, weather, elevation, shot measurement, caddie-style calculations, notifications, sponsored placements, and leaderboards.
- To make signed-in user discovery, public profiles, post audiences, follow requests, direct message permissions, blocks, and club membership controls work as configured.
- To show your profile, posts, score activity, group activity, tournament activity, and tee time information to other users where the feature requires sharing.
- To send service messages, verification emails, password reset emails, push notifications, local reminders, tee time updates, club invites, follow request alerts, tournament updates, moderation notices, and support replies.
- To send launch updates or promotional emails only where you joined the waitlist or opted in to receive them.
- To measure website traffic, waitlist conversion performance, and the effectiveness of KaGolf ads.
- To detect spam, screen uploaded media, enforce community rules, review reports and appeals, block abuse, prevent fraud, protect users, and maintain reliability signals.
- To improve app reliability, debug issues, understand feature usage, and maintain service security.
App Store Privacy Disclosures
Apple's App Privacy details are a summary of the data collected by the app and integrated third-party services. The categories below describe data KaGolf expects to disclose for the iOS app when the related features are enabled or used.
- Contact Info, including name, email address, Apple private relay email address, and phone number if provided.
- Location, including precise location and location-derived data for live round GPS, yardage, maps, weather, wind, elevation, shot measurement, and course features.
- Contacts or social graph data, including follows, followers, blocks, direct message permissions, club memberships, friend or relationship records, and related social controls.
- User Content, including direct messages, flight chats, club chats, posts, comments, polls, media attachments, photos, videos, scorecards, support requests, reports, moderation submissions, and appeal notes.
- Identifiers, including KaGolf account IDs, Firebase or authentication identifiers, push notification tokens, App Check or device-level identifiers, and related security identifiers.
- Purchases, including premium subscription status, trial eligibility, and entitlement information. Apple processes payment card and billing details through the App Store; KaGolf receives purchase and entitlement status needed to unlock features.
- Usage Data and Diagnostics, including app launches, feature events, analytics events, paywall events, notification prompt events, app version and build, performance records, error records, logs, and Cloud Functions diagnostics.
- Other Data, including anti-abuse records, rate-limit records, moderation records, media moderation labels, safety history, sponsored placement metadata, reliability signals, audit logs, and fraud-prevention information.
Most account, social, location, purchase entitlement, usage, diagnostic, and moderation records are linked to your account, device, or other identifiers because they are needed to operate signed-in features, protect the service, or understand app reliability. Data that stays only on your device is not collected by KaGolf unless it is sent to our servers or third-party providers.
KaGolf does not sell personal information. If KaGolf enables Meta Pixel, ad retargeting, ad measurement, or another third-party advertising SDK inside the iOS app or an in-app web view, those practices may need to be disclosed as tracking in App Store Connect and may require additional user permission. Website Meta Pixel activity is described above and may be controlled through browser settings and Meta privacy choices.
Media Storage and Moderation
Profile photos, club photos, Fairway media, club-thread media, tournament assets, and sponsored placement creatives may be uploaded through server-controlled flows, stored in Firebase Storage or Cloudflare R2, and scanned with automated moderation tools such as AWS Rekognition. Videos may be temporarily staged in AWS storage so moderation can run before approved media is published.
Automated media checks may create labels, confidence scores, review flags, scanner details, provider details, and moderation decisions. KaGolf admins may review flagged media, reports, appeals, related account activity, and surrounding content to enforce the Community Guidelines.
Sponsored Placements and Ads
Free KaGolf accounts may see sponsored placements in the app. Sponsored placements can include advertiser names, images, videos, text, and external links. Premium accounts may receive an ad-free app experience where supported.
KaGolf measures sponsored-placement and promoted-tournament impressions, clicks, and video engagement using account-linked event records. We use these records for analytics, frequency controls, advertising measurement, fraud prevention, and aggregate reporting. We do not provide sponsors or ad networks with user-level event records. You can report sponsored content from its in-app menu for review.
When you open a sponsor or third-party link, the destination site or app may collect information from your browser or device under its own terms and privacy policy.
Tournaments and External Links
The tournament calendar may include organizer-provided event details, images, contact information, and registration links. If you contact an organizer or open an external registration link, that third party may collect and process information under its own terms and privacy practices.
KaGolf may process tournament admin records and uploaded event assets to publish, update, remove, audit, and secure tournament listings.
Location, Maps, Weather, and Elevation
KaGolf uses location to support golf-specific features such as course GPS, yardages, shot measurement, weather, wind, elevation, and live round mapping. These features may be inaccurate or unavailable because of device GPS limits, course data, network conditions, provider data, or user input.
You can control location permission in iOS Settings. Some app features may not work, or may require manual input, if location access is disabled.
Retention and Deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide KaGolf, maintain account integrity, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, enforce rules, prevent abuse, and preserve score or competition integrity.
You may request account deletion in the app. When an account is deleted, KaGolf removes the account profile and its private subcollections, public profile, uploaded profile media, social relationships, friend requests, direct chats, authored Fairway posts and comments, and authored club or flight messages and content.
Limited records may be retained only when needed for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, verified scoring, leaderboard integrity, backup recovery, or audit purposes. Account-deletion audit records use hashed account identifiers rather than an email address or directly identifying profile information.
Verified handicap submission records, audit records, review results, and integrity logs may be retained as needed for score, leaderboard, safety, or dispute integrity.
Waitlist email records may be removed on request unless retention is needed for abuse prevention or legal reasons.
Your Choices
- You can update your profile information in the app.
- You can adjust profile privacy, default post audience, and direct message permissions in the app where available.
- You can control location, notifications, camera, and photo permissions through iOS Settings.
- You can opt out of promotional emails by using the unsubscribe option where provided or by contacting us.
- You can use browser settings and Meta ad preferences to manage some advertising and tracking choices.
- You can follow, unfollow, block users, report content, unsend supported messages, and request account deletion through app features where available.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or review of your personal information.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information, including Firebase security rules, authentication, access controls, and cloud infrastructure controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
Children
KaGolf is not intended for children under 13. Users must confirm they are at least 13 years old before creating an account. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us so we can review and delete the account where appropriate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as KaGolf changes. If changes are material, we may notify users in the app, by email, or through another reasonable method. The effective date above shows when this version applies.

Public Profiles and Social Controls
KaGolf uses public profile records so signed-in users can find golfers, send follow requests, view permitted profiles, join shared tee times, and use social features. Public profiles are designed to exclude private account fields such as email, phone number, premium status, account acceptance records, and internal reliability scores.
You can use app settings to make your profile private, choose a default audience for Fairway posts, and control who can start direct messages with you. Post audience choices may include followers, mutuals, or only you. Blocking a user removes or limits relationship and messaging access where supported.
Privacy controls limit in-app access, but they do not prevent other users from copying, saving, screenshotting, or sharing information they were able to view.
